What is Mental Health First Aid?
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised and accredited qualification. The course teaches practical ways to manage mental health symptoms and crises.
Currently, Mind HK is offering two types of Mental Health First Aid courses:

The course will cover: | 1. Basic knowledge about common mental health problems and related crisis situations 2. What you can provide as a lay person and when to get help 3. MHFA Action Plans 4. Intervening and managing mental health emergencies as a first responder 5. Identify the resources available in the local community |

*This is not a course to train someone to become a mental health professional.

The minimum age requirement is 18.

FAQs
Is the Standard Mental Health First Aid of Mind HK internationally accredited?
Yes, the Mental Health First Aid class of Mind HK is internationally accredited by the MHFA International. The content and certification are delivered by trainers certified by the Mental Health Association of Hong Kong (MHAHK). You can find out our trainers’ accreditation here.
When will I receive a certificate of completion of the Mental Health First Aid Class?
- For in-person classes: You will receive a physical certificate at the end of the class.
- For online classes: You will receive an e-certificate 1.5 – 2 months after completion of the class. Please understand that logistics time is needed for an external authority’s arrangement.
What will be the name shown on my certificate?
- For in-person classes: The names will be collected from the application form you submit on Eventbrite.
- For online classes: The names will be collected from the end-of-class feedback form you submit after completion of the course.
What information will be included in the certificate?
- For in-person classes: Your name, date of course completion, written in bilingual language (Chinese and English)
- For online classes: Your name, date of course completion, specification of the course in “Online Version”, written in bilingual language (Chinese and English)
